Guide to Admissions
For Reception 2027
If your child was born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023, you will need to apply for a Reception place for September 2027. Applications must be submitted online through Bristol City Council by the closing date Friday 15th January 2027.
We admit up to 30 children into Reception year.
As part of the application process, you will be asked to select up to three schools and rank them in order of preference. If you would like your child to attend Our Lady of the Rosary, it is important that you list our school as your first preference.
Bristol City Council Online Application
Supplementary Form
In addition to completing the online application form, families should also complete our Supplementary Information Form. If your child has been baptised, please provide a copy of their baptism certificate. Families from other faith traditions are also asked to provide appropriate evidence of their faith.
Supplementary FormIn Year Applications
If you would like your child to join Our Lady of the Rosary then you must complete an 'In Year Supplementary Form'. This must be returned to the school office and your child will then go on our waiting list. When spaces become available we follow our school Admissions Policy and will contact you to offer you the place.
Waiting Lists
If your child is not initially offered a place at Our Lady of the Rosary, you may request that they remain on the waiting list. Waiting lists are maintained according to the school's published oversubscription criteria and not according to the date a child's name was added. Waiting lists will remain on file and families will be called each year to see if they wish to stay on the list or be removed. If places do become available, children on the waiting list will be ranked in accordance with the admissions criteria.
Deferred Admissions
Occasionally parents may also request that their child attends defers until they reach compulsory school age. Families considering a deferred admission are encouraged to discuss their child's individual circumstances with the school at the earliest opportunity so that appropriate arrangements can be considered and planned.

We warmly invite prospective parents and carers to visit our school and attend one of our school tours. These visits provide an excellent opportunity to see our school in action, meet members of our staff and learn more about life at Our Lady of the Rosary.
If your child has additional needs or a SEND diagnosis, we warmly encourage you to contact our SENDCo, Mrs Burden, to arrange a visit and discuss your child's individual needs.
If you are unable to attend one of the scheduled tours, please contact the school office and we will be pleased to arrange an alternative visit at a convenient time.
